I saw a post today of someone explaining how you have to use SharePoint Designer to edit a DispForm.aspx page just to add a web part to the page. Hmmm, no you don’t.
You can add an existing web part to a DispForm.aspx page by adding this to the edit of your page URL in your browser: &toolpaneview=2%20&PageView=Shared
I tried this and it works very well with the EditForm and DispForm. Unfotunately now the edit page structure displays above. I have selected "Save and stop editing" but that changes nothing. A preview of the edit page shows things looking normal, but I can't seem to get there.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get around this when you made changes? My changes were to add a content editor web part, move it below the edit form, and add the style you published just recently to it as we needed a wider rich text field (800 pixels).
Thank you, Elena, very new admin
You are probably just seeing the Edit Page option as the administrator. Have a regular user that only has Contributor permissions go to the page and I am sure they will not see the Edit option.
ReplyDeleteLook in your List or Library settings to see if you have "Require content approval" turned on, and what your Version Control is.
